Why gamble with your health? |

By Dr. Monika Faulhaber » It is a personal decision whether we choose to live our health governed by destiny or fate. With destiny, we choose to listen to the inner voice and act upon that knowledge. With fate, we let the dice fall where it may and take our chances.
In most cases, a health crisis results from inflammation. Inflammation may come from bacterial, viral, fungal, toxic irritants or from physical injury. Continued inflammation results in aging and degeneration… the body goes from EASE to DISEASE.
As an example, let’s consider arthritis. This takes many forms and degrees of severity. The most common is decreased function and range of motion.
Arthritis, as most diseases do, start simply enough – a little ache or pain that comes and goes, a muscle that just feels tight and sore.
In time more negative oriented changes come. A person gets used to it. Oh well, maybe it will go away. These are the five most dangerous words, because the pain will go away – only to return later with greater severity.
In the earliest stages of arthritis, X-rays will show a loss in the normal curves. They begin to straighten and in some cases will reverse themselves.
Arthritis makes slow progress, showing its signs from time to time, and then silently going away… until the day when it doesn’t. Now, add to this the insult of poor posture from carrying heavy school packs, injuries from car accidents and sport, toxic material and environment exposure, and we see how this actually can begin in early childhood.
One of the greatest and most dedicated healers of recent times was a Canadian, David Daniel Palmer, and his son B.J. Palmer. The elder Palmer, who was born in Port Perry, Ontario, started as a magnetic healer in Davenport, Iowa. He postulated that the nervous system is the electromagnetic conduit of our life force. If it is blocked from expressing its life force, then disease follows.
He deduced further that gently moving the bones into their natural alignment would free the flow of the nerve. The muscles would relax, and the pain would go away.
More importantly though, he realized that the organ or gland connected by this same nerve would now function healthier. This would reverse the inflammation and aging of the tissue.
Today we call this chiropractic, now practiced in over 30 countries worldwide. Not bad for a Canadian, eh!
